Denia Bomb News

My back was to the explosion and the sound was muffled where I stood, so I did not know what was happening and I thought it was something wrong with the phone, as I could see sparks flying and my connection went dead.

Injured by a Terrorist's Bomb

My left arm was resting on a ledge where I had placed my bag and at first I did not even realize that I was hurt. As I slowly turned around, I could see a small fire in the middle of the lobby, someone was lying on the floor and a man was running towards me. As he escorted me out of the building, I began to realize that I must be injured. I could hardly breathe and all I could think of at that moment was my next breath.

I was escorted to an ambulance, which was taking a number of the people from the hotel who were hurt to the nearby hospital of St. Michael’s which at the time was located at Hyde Park Corner. I learned later that my arm was badly injured and I was very lucky that thanks to the doctors’ skill, six operations later, I now have skin grafts from my abdominal area on my arm and skin from my leg patching up my abdomen.
